Sustainability - A Personal Mindset

For Adi Pinhasi, Datonics’ CTO since 1999, sustainability isn’t a trend or a corporate initiative—it’s a way of life that began years ago after meeting his wife. Together, they built a shared commitment to living more intentionally, making everyday choices that reflect care for the environment and the communities around them. That mindset has stayed with Adi ever since, shaping not only how he lives, but how he thinks about long-term impact.

At home, sustainability shows up in simple, consistent habits. Adi is a regular at local farmers’ markets, choosing fresh, seasonal food while supporting small producers and reducing the environmental cost of long supply chains. He’s thoughtful about waste, making sure items are properly disposed of, recycled, or reused whenever possible. These practices aren’t about perfection—they’re about mindfulness and doing better where you can, day after day.

That same philosophy extends to how Adi approaches consumption. Rather than buying new by default, he and his wife prioritize purchasing and donating clothing through Salvation shops, extending the life of items and supporting charitable causes at the same time. It’s a practical expression of sustainability rooted in responsibility, generosity, and restraint. For Adi, living sustainably isn’t separate from daily life—it’s woven into it, reinforcing the belief that meaningful change starts with individual choices made consistently over time.
